Testprint and CIRI join forces in support of US printing industry
Testprint and the newly formed Coating & Ink Research Institute (CIRI) are opening a new laboratory facility in Bethlehem, PA. It is their objective to support the US printing industry with independent research and testing of critical components in the printing process.
The new facility opens its doors on April 15th, 2009 during an Open House held at Southside Campus. Part of the Open House will include a Seminar with industrial speakers, a tour of the new CIRI laboratories and an opportunity for attendees to consult with speakers.
The objective of this partnership is to initiate and expand an independent technical and research cooperation in the US printing industry based upon bilateral knowledge transfer, the development of new testing applications, the implementation of new technologies, the publication of results of applied research and presentation of scientific papers.
In order to facilitate this cooperation, Testprint has provided the CIRI laboratory with the necessary equipment. The Universal Testprinter, the Tack-O-Scope and the HydroScope, with instruments are developed and manufactured by Testprint, Inc. will be used fo research and testing at CIRI.
Testprint and CIRI will combine their expertise in order to provide the US printing industry with expert knowledge and testing applications which were specifically developed for the purpose of obtaining the highest possible level of predictability with regard to the performance and interaction of materials in the full scale printing process. These capabilities comprise the latest testing technologies which have been successfully for a decade in the printing industry in Europe. They are unique in the USA and meet the increasing demand of printers to obtain more information about crucial parameters for each printing job, in order to cost-control their operations.
The integral and multi-disciplinary approach of CIRI will assist printers and their suppliers to bridge the technology gap between the laboratory and the full scale printing process.
